One of the most terrifying disease now a days. The newest case of Zika Virus disease is found in Gujrat’s Ahmedabad INDIA . Three cases are identified till now. Zika virus disease is primarily transmitted by Aedes mosquitoes. The reason Zika Fever is dangerous because it can transmitted from person to person. Aedes mosquito is the carrier for this dangerous virus.
What are the Causes of Zika Fever?
Zika fever is caused by a Zika virus transmitted by Aedes species mosquitoes, Aedes mosquitoes usually bite during the day, peaking during early morning and late afternoon/evening. Yes Guys this is the same mosquito that transmits chikungunya, dengue, and yellow fever.
Aedes mosquitoes lays their eggs in dirty water or the area where water can withstand overnight like flower pot, cooler, used tyres, bowls, buckets, open containers.
Zika Virus Symptoms :
Zika virus symptoms are not different from symptoms of Dengue and Chikungunya. So its little tough to diagnose properly in starting days. After being bitten by mosquito the incubation period is fro 3 to 12 days and acute symptoms will be resolve in 4 to 7 days. Here are the general sing and symptoms for zika virus disease.
- Mild fever
- Myalgia (muscle pain)
- Conjunctival hyperaemia (redness of the sclera)
- Microcephaly ( A neurological condition in which a child is born with a smaller-than-normal sized head and impaired brain development.)
- Arthralgia (joint pain), mainly at the extremities like hands joints and feet joints.
- Weakness
- Exanthema or maculopapular rash, which starts on the face and then spreads throughout the body
- Asthenia (post-infection) (lack of energy)
- Other symptoms such as headache, malaise, diarrhea, vomiting and dizziness are seen.
Countries :
Zika virus is first found in a monkey in 1947 Zika Forest, UGANDA. Than in a mosquito in 1948. And than the journey starts. The countries currently affected by the virus include, Brazil, South America, Bolivia, Colombia, Paraguay and other tropical countries. It has recently spread to the United States and in Europe such as Denmark and Switzerland. and now the newest target is Gujrat’s Ahmedabad INDIA . 3 pregnant women are found infected by Zika Virus.
